Being located outside the city as the separated sites, airports are nowadays considered as inner contextual locations with respect to periodical development of cities. Environmental and socio-economic issues in local communities around airports usually result in airports being closed down and transmitted to suburban areas as a large-scale site. In this circumstance, unused, large lands left out of the transmission of airports is the main challenge of urban actors. Such areas can be called Brownfields. A typology of transmitted airports regeneration is the concern and purpose of the present study. This case-study is conducted based on qualitative approach. The data of the study are extracted through review of documents and literature. An investigation on global experiences regarding transmitted airports regeneration indicates that these airports follow the approach of structure-change-function change, or structure-preservation-function change. Ultimately, regeneration procedure for inner-city airports are extracted.
